Are You Ready For Some Football???

I love football! I do!

I look forward to football season every year and I get sad when the season ends.

Football makes me excited!

Football gets me pumped!

Football makes me giddy!

Football makes me cry!

*Sigh*

Really, I have. Not really cry, just gotten a little teary eyed; like, when USC lost a championship game to Texas, my eyes totally teared. Or, just the other night when my Dolphins fought off the Colts for a million long, harrowing, gruesome and glorifying hours and then, like the snap of my fingers, the Dolphins defense just let the Colts walk into the end zone and score their touch down that won the game, undoing everything WE had fought, screamed and played for that night. I got a little teary eyed.

I don't think all you non football fans understand the energy that one puts into a football game. We fans are probably just as tired and worn out after a game as the players themselves...unless you're a Colts fan and teams bow down and let you walk in the end zone. I tease, I tease... geez!

Sometimes after a game, I don't even have a voice! (Pillows accidentally get thrown at the TV while I'm uncontrollably shouting, "THAT'S NOT HOW YOU WIN A GAME!" My husband laughs at me! Can you believe it?)

I should be on the side lines because I KNOW my yelling and strategy ideas would make a difference to a defense that makes Peyton Manning (who I do love, by the way) look like a QB who doesn't even need to wear his pads (protective gear).

I'm being a little harsh on my Dolphins. I don't mean to be. It's just, we had such a good season last year. This year was supposed to be better! We got Jason Taylor back! He took a humongous pay cut to come back home! *Sigh* And now, our precious and wonderful QB is out for the season! Can I get a, "WAAAAAAAAAAAA!"?

I know where I got my football energy. This time, it is totally accurate to blame my father. It's my father's fault! When I was a little girl, he would get so excited about his Redskins that sometimes my lovely 5th grade art work would somehow get ripped off the wall in the fit of a fumble or the excitement of a touch down.

Sometimes, I would come home from school and he would open the front door singing the Redskins' song! Who knows their NFL team's song?!?! LOL!

If you don't like football you should really get into it. There are heroes (Jason Taylor, Ronnie Brown, Sproles, Troy Polamalu, Peyton Manning, etc) and there are villains (Vick, *gag* T. Brady- he makes my nose turn up...I disdain that person, etc). See, it's like a drama, action movie, soap opera all rolled into 3 glorious hours of action where you get to hoot and holler and coach and imitate plays (and drink if you want to!)...sometimes with out even leaving your living room! Who wouldn't want that? I just don't know!

I Need YOUR Help!

A friend of mine planted a seed in my head. We were casually shooting the breeze one evening and he said that I needed a business. He was partially joking; but, it got me thinking. If I were to open up my own business (before you freak out, this is just for fun) what type of business would I open? What would I be good at?

I pose this question to you. Please answer. You may post your answer as a comment by clicking on the word, "comment," below.

My friends and I have joked about opening a dessert shop; but, I wonder, do I need to know how to make wonderfully delicious desserts for that? Don't know how successful that would be...but, that's not the question that I want you to answer!

I will stop rambling now and let you ponder this idea that I hath put before you as I, too, ponder. Haha :)

Thanks, in advance, for playing along!

Sigh of Relief!

PHEW! What a week and a half! It's been so busy that it's a blur!

We've moved all of our stuff into the new house and have turned in our keys from the duplex! Now, we can focus on unpacking and setting up the new house...which I love, by the way! I stay up too late because I love the family room and I love to sit in it and look around and "just be." It's still so novel, comfortable, quiet, BIG (compared to the duplex!) and peaceful. Peaceful until we let the dogs in, who are under the impression that they have 1800 sq ft of race track!

I haven't had to cook yet; so, I don't know if the smoke detectors work! Haha. We still have to unpack all of the kitchen stuff. I have been in Heaven and enjoying not having to cook!

I promise, promise, promise that I will have pics very soon for your viewing pleasure! We have to find the mouse to our computer, first. It ran away in the move! ;) Finally, when I am over all of the traumas (snicker, snicker) I will post "Missyisms of the Move," because, who moves with out "great" memories?!?!

I Boosted the Economy and Busted my Booty!

On Friday afternoon Dave and I experienced the rush of getting the keys to our first house!!!!! AWESOME! :)

We spent 2 hours and our life savings at Lowe's on Friday night! (Just kidding about the life savings part.) Then, on Saturday, starting at the crack of dawn, my friends and I worked our tails off painting and making repairs to the new house. I cannot thank them enough for helping us. Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU! Seriously and from the bottom of my heart, your help meant the world to me.

Unfortunately, some of us (like, me) could barely walk for the rest of the weekend from being so sore! OMG! On Sunday, it felt like I had done 600 squats! My calves hurt, my thighs ached, my shoulders felt like elephants were sitting on them and even my fingers hurt! It's ok, though, half way through the day on Sunday, I became numb to the pain...until the Advil wore off! But, the show had to go on!

So, we did work our tails off all weekend. It felt like, what 3 day weekend?!?! But, the satisfaction and pride of getting our to-do list done was awesome! And, again, we couldn't have gotten it all done with out our helpers!

Tonight, thanks to muscle men and women folk we're making the big move to the new house! It will be our first night in the new house! I'm so excited! And tired. And sore. And nervous. And excited. And, and, and!!!!!

When I have Internet again, I'll share pics and funny stories! Thank you to everyone for your support and excitement!

But they were Tears of Joy

Yesterday after work I had to go to the mortgage company to sign one last piece of paper. Upon arriving, they promptly told me that they had received final approval on everything (the loan, the docs we signed, etc, etc!) from the underwriter and that we should officially close tomorrow (which, by now, is today)!

Someone had until 1pm to get the paperwork to where ever it had to be so that we could get the keys by Friday and it got there at 12:57pm; so, it really came down to the wire! My mortgage people (they're husband and wife) were so happy and congratulatory. I was beside myself with happiness and excitement! A happiness I don't know I've ever felt. It was a different type of happiness, hard to explain.
I talked to the mortgage people for longer than I wanted and got a whole new slew of information; then, we thanked each other, exchanged pleasantries and I left.
I walked to my truck feeling a whole new sense of relief, calm and excitement. I thought, "I can't believe this is over. I can't believe we did it! I can't believe everything happened on time and we should get the keys tomorrow!"
When I got in the truck the radio automatically came on and my new favorite country song that I've been dying to hear for days was playing:

"And a little bit of chicken fried
A cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
I like to see the sunrise
See the love in my woman's eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother's love"
And I just started crying! I was overwhelmed! But, it was a good overwhelmed and tears of joy. Don't know if I've ever cried tears of joy before!

I'm just so proud of Dave and me!

Signing Update

I could have fallen off of my chair last night when we were signing and my mortgage guy asked me, "Didn't we think you were going to need additional money at closing?"! (If you don't know what I'm talking about, you'll have to read my, "House-broke here we come," story!)

So, we signed a bunch of papers last night! Yay! I was excited; but, got extremely nervous beforehand! It is so anticlimactic though!

Signing was, dare I say, fun! Dave was in a goofy mood. Our wonderful real estate agent was there as well as our mortgage people and a mobile notary who is a tri-athlete! We laughed, talked, joked and were serious, too.

We have the best real estate agent in the world! She is a lion (or, should I say, lioness)! She is AWESOME! She stayed on top of our mortgage people last night, keeping them on their toes, giving them ideas on how to hurry things along so that maybe we could have keys by Friday and not after the 3 day weekend. She does it in such a gracious way, though. I just love her. She doesn't miss a beat! She is on top of her game!

Sorry, I still don't have a plan to tell you. We've already made a couple of moving plans that have both fallen through the cracks; so, we're waiting to get our keys and go from there! I just pray that we have our keys on Friday, though, so we can paint and fix some stuff this weekend. Otherwise, we won't get our keys until next Tuesday (hopefully) and that only leaves us with 1 weekend before we have to be out of the duplex! *sigh*

Thank you for all of your support and offers to help! Hopefully, we can have an open house at the new house very SOON!
