I know this is opening a can of worms but I cannot help it, it's just how I feel.
Last night when I was going to bed, I turned on ESPN to watch for a few minutes, to unwind. ESPN's entire coverage in that few minutes was on how special it would be and how much it would mean for New Orleans if the Saints won the Superbowl.
The 5-10 minutes of press that I saw on ESPN was biased. Biased towards the Saints. I guess I should be used to that by now- biased press/news coverage.
So, here it is, I'm going to say it. If the Saints win the Super Bowl today, it confirms my suspicions that football is rigged.
I feel bad saying that because some people might say that is not giving credit to outstanding players. I mean no disrespect to the outstanding players. They can't help it if a referee gets paid off to call a game a certain way or if a player here or a player there gets bought off some how. You can't tell me that in an entity as large and as rich as the NFL everything is one the "up and up."
One other point to my case. On ESPN this morning they showed the "touchdown" that Reggie Bush "made" 2 weeks ago against the Vikings. The touchdown that I don't think was honestly a touchdown. Then, coincidentally that touchdown gets reviewed by the booth. Hmmmm...maybe to ensure that the Saints secured the lead and win?
I know that a million points could argue against my one theory. That football is rigged. I just felt a compulsive and nagging need to share!
*Normal Missy will return tomorrow*
Addition: OK, I posted this about an hour ago and walked away, to eat my delicious omelette and watch CBS pre-Super Bowl coverage. I am feeling a little bad about saying if the Saints win the Super Bowl that football is rigged. It depends on how the games goes. SO! I will give you my complete analysis tomorrow.
With that being said, I do still think foot ball is rigged a little bit! With that being said, I do still think that most of the football players are great athletes...who have no idea that football is rigged! Just kiddin!
See, that's exactly why we don't watch football. Too much stress analyzing if its rigged or not, lol! You would laugh at my hubby last night, he saw a commercial for the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet for today and turns to me to ask: "Is the Superbowl tomorrow?"
ReplyDeleteLol, nice!
ReplyDeleteYou see... some of us just like to see the underdog win... when it means something. Not all of us root for the 'best' player and walk on the sunny side of the street! We take a calculated chance... and it pay's off BIG!
ReplyDeleteHow can something be rigged... you can't even get them all in the same room, much less follow the same guidelines with out blowing it! Too many factors to be rigged... I think some people call that an EXCUSE!
Peyton is good... at throwing INTERCEPTIONS!!
WHOOP WHOOP...
You should just listen to your wise sista!
Who DAT Missy? It's the Saints...
ReplyDeleteWho DAT Nancy? It's the Saints...
Who Dat Murphy's? It's the Saints...
whoop whoop
Excuse me? Rooting for Tom Brady, which you do, all the time, is exactly what you're accusing me of doing ("rooting for the best player and walking on the sunny side of the street") and when you root for him and the Patriots that is never rooting for the underdog. Last year you weren't rooting for the underdog.
ReplyDeleteBesides, I've always liked Peyton Manning, way before he ever had a Super Bowl ring. It's nothing new and I still like him.
As far as my whole football is rigged thing, I stand by that. And, I never said anything about getting everybody in the same room, that's not how I think it's done.
Look at our government and every entity that has that much money involved. They're not on the "up and up" and neither is football.
The Saints played a good game. That guy who caught the interception made a good play. Congrats to the Saints.
The absolute best thing in the world is getting your blood pressure up. You get all riled up... and I LOVE IT! That's why I do it, you know!
ReplyDeleteFirst off... other than Brady being kind on my eyes... I could care less about him and his team. It's fun to root for him though... because it pisses you off. And that gives me happiness! lol
Second... insulting Peyton gets your panties in a wad... and that is fun to watch. He is very talented... and still a bit of a spoiled brat. He plays great under pressure... and will surely be in many superbowls. However.. watching your blood pressure rise gives me joy!
And yes... I rooted for the Steelers last year because that was my hubby's team! And my second team. YOU picked the opposite team to watch my blood pressure rise... you brat!
While I don't think football is rigged... I believe it's a business. And like any business with a huge profit margin... they have to step on people to keep them profitable. I think they give extra money and attention to teams that might give you that 'feel good' feeling if they won. That translates to money... and happy stock holders I guess. I enjoy it though, and try not to think about it too much... ignorance is bliss you know. You should try it every once in a while!
The saints won, but I think both teams were playing extremely cautious/careful. That's why one mistake made ended up being huge.. because it was one of the very few.
I still love you... and I love you all pissy. I would much rather have you that way then hungover in the corner! hee hee...
Loosen up sista... it's just a game!
wow you two are funny. love to you both, but I have to take missy's back on this one. although i agree it is fun to get missy's blood boiling. lol
ReplyDeleteOMG! Pissy Missy, hahaha! JK
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why it's bad to stick up for your self or what you believe in or to tease back. I feel like that's all I'm doin, smack talkn w/the rest of y'all.
And, I'm sorry sister, I know you don't like him...but I like Kurt Warner, too. And, Larry Fitzgerald... and that is why I rooted for the Cardinals. That was my year to root for the underdog and it didn't pay off big for me...at all...it landed me in the bathroom and the rest, as they say, is history! lol
